An offer of $20 was made and accepted by Danielle Kline. 18 ferrets were purchased by Rocky's Ferret Rescue and Shelter. The following is a photo essay of the conditions of these ferrets. These ferrets had come from the Hagerstown Ferret Rescue just 3 weeks and others, 1 week earlier. It was with broken heart, that Barb and Jade were denied the purchase approximately 8 others.

 | The building where the ferrets were housed was an old broken down shed, with only 3 walls. The ferrets' cages were where the 4th wall would have been. They were exposed to sun, rain and wind, and insects (and of course the subsequent maggots) without any protection. |

 | This was the only cage we saw that had food and a solid floor. Whereas it had a piece of bedding, it was inaccessible because of the shoebox of litter sitting on it. This mother and her 5 kits were crowded in this "mommy cage" |

 | Barb and Jade were closing the deal on the ferrets and quickly readying them for transport. What a deal....Dani got them for free from Di, and Rocky's paid $20.....We offered more for the ones we were refused...and again denied. If we could have we would have done anything to get all of them....but she had her favorites, and we didn't have enough money. |
